SPORTS: Denis Onyango Wins His 9th League Title, Becomes The Most Decorated Player In PSL

Ugandan football legend, Denis Onyango together with his South African club, Mamelodi Sundowns sealed a record-extending fifth consecutive South African Premiership title on Wednesday, despite drawing at home with Cape Town City in a scoreless match.

Obtaining one point from their match with Cape Town City lifted Sundowns 58 points with four games left to complete the season.

The second-place club, Royal AMP can only make 57 points if they win all their remaining matches.

However, it’s not only Mamelodi Sundowns making history; their players are as well. Masandawana & Ugandan goalkeeper, Denis Onyango, has officially become the most successful player in the history of South African football.

Previously Onyango and former Mamelodi Sundowns player Hlompho Kekana were tied on eight titles each but now the Ugandan shot-stopper has surpassed that mark as he notched up his ninth league title on the night.
