Norbert Mao narrates what happened in Seattle, US where Speaker was hospitalized.

When we arrived in Seattle, we left for the hospital immediately after leaving our bags at the hotel. We were told to go in twos, but later the doctor said we could go in.

When we reached the room, we noticed that he was breathing on his own. He had lost a lot of weight. We started calling his name in turns.

I heard him call the Chief Justice, Chigamoi. He opened his eyes. At some point, his eyes had a lot of sadness. He had tears in his eyes.

He was wheeled out for 30 minutes and brought back. We were told that he could occasionally speak, I didn’t hear except once when he called the Chief Justice. The Minister of Health prepared us. He told us we were going to see Jacob worse than before.

The doctor sat us down and gave us a true picture of what they had intended to do. The doctor told us the Speaker was not in the right physical condition to deal with it. He told us Jacob would sleep away, and we prepared for that. – Mao

SO THE QUESTION IS, IS MAO TO BE BLAMED FOR KEEPING SILENT ABOUT THE SPEAKER’S STATE OF ILLNESS?

It’s a big NO! What people have forgotten is that Mao made an idiomatic statement on his Twitter handle about the condition of the Speaker of which we are assured that many of the people completely failed to interpret his statement.

On 19th March, Mao tweeted; “I’m with the CJ, the D/Speaker, the Health Minister & the Speaker’s brother in Seattle where the Speaker is hospitalized. A man who is very ill deserves our prayers. Above all let’s respect his privacy and that of his family. The D/Speaker will soon issue a statement. It is well!”.

On his statement, Mao clearly stated that the Speaker is “very ill” and he needs our “prayer”. We should have reason his message well.
