The lifeless body of the late Speaker emeritus, Jacob Oulanya L’Okori is expected to be flown to Uganda today ahead of the burial which will be held next week.
Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa on 31st April, confirmed the body will reach the country at 2:00 p.m.
On Sunday 3rd April,2022, at 9:00 a.m, late Oulanyah’s body will lie at his home in Muyenga, Kampala where friends and well-wishers will pay their last respect.
On Tuesday 5th April, 2022, at 9:00 a.m, the MPs will have a long sitting to pay their last tribute to the fallen Speaker emeritus Jacob Oulanyah.
The body of Oulanyah will spend a night at the Parliament that day.
On Wednesday 6th April, 2022, at 9:00 a.m, the body will be taken to Kololo Ceremonial Ground for state funeral.
That same day at 3:00 p.m the casket will be airlifted to the Speaker’s ancestral home in Omoro District.
On Thursday 7th April, 2022, the body will lie at Lalogi for final respect by the public.
And finally his body will be laid to rest on Friday 8th April, 2022. The burial will start at 9:00 a.m. This day will be observed as Public holiday as declared by the President.
Oulanyah’s burial to cost 2.5 Billion Uganda Shillings.
Oulanyah died on 20th March from US hospital in Seattle, Washington. His death was announced by the President of The Rebulic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Museveni Kaguta through Tweeter.
