As the third highest ranking government official in the national order of procedence, the late Speaker of Parliament emeritus, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanya L’Okori will be granted state funeral as said by the government.
Hon. Jacob Oulanyah will be entering the list of prominentnt Ugandans who have been given state burial.
Some leading Ugandans who have been given State funerals include the former governor of Bank of Uganda Emmanuel Tmusiime-Mutebile; Augustine Osuban Lemukol, the Iteso cultural leader, former Presidents, Sir Edward Mutesa, Apollo Milton Obote, and Godfrey Binaisa.
Oulanyah’s State Funeral will be held on 7th April, 2022 at Kololo Ceremonial Ground.
The 11th Parliament will pay their tribute to the former MP from Omoro County on April 5th where his body will spend a night at the Parliament.
8th April, Speakerwill be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Omoro district. That day has been declared a Public Holiday by the President. And 17 gun salute will be shot that day to give last respect to the Speaker emeritus.
